It is time to break out the bubbly and ring in the new year! If you are heading out to a party this December 31st, these fun DIY wine hang tags are a great way to dress up a bottle of sparkling wine {or sparkling cider or juice!} for your host!
Pop! Fizz! DIY Wine Hang Tags for New Year’s Eve
I love the shiny letters that spell out POP! and FIZZ! What better way to celebrate a new year than with a little something sparkling?! And these DIY wine hang tags are sparkly indeed! With the well wishes: Hope you have a sparling new year! and the edge of shimmery sparkly super fine silver glitter! And because I love all things ribbon and twine, I tied a few lengths of both around the top of the bottle for a little more ‘sparkle’!

- Kraft card stock
- Paper Trimmer
- Scoring Board
– this is the exact scoring board I use.
- 1 1/2 inch Circle Punch
- Silver chipboard letters – mine were from the Target Dollar Spot, but you could silver letter stickers as well
- Scrapbook adhesive (if you are not using letter stickers)
- Alphabet stamps
– this is a great sturdy set! I use these ALL the time.
- Black ink pad
- Mod Podge or craft glue
- Foam brush
- Silver super fine glitter
- Ribbon & twine
The How-To
- Cut a piece of kraft card stock 7 inches long x 4 inches wide. (Depending on the size of your letters/letter stickers, you can adjust the size of the tag. Mine are pretty big, so I needed the tag to be 4 inches wide to fit them comfortably.)
- Using the scoring board, score the hang tag at the 2 inch mark. This will allow the hang tag to fold on a perfectly straight line! If you don’t have a scoring board, you can also just make a sharp fold in the hang tag at the 2 inch mark.
- Use the circle punch to punch a circle in the middle of the 2 inch part of the hang tag. This hole allows the tag to hang from the neck of the bottle of sparkling wine.
- Adhere your silver letters to spell POP and FIZZ at the top of the bottom (5 inch) section of the hang tag.
- Use the alphabet stamps and black in pad to stamp Hope you have a sparkling new year
- Now, add the glitter! Use the foam brush to add a thin line of Mod Podge or glue around the bottom section of the hang tag. Sprinkle the super fine silver glitter on the wet Mod Podge/glue and allow to dry. Another option would be to put a small amount of glitter on a paper plate and ‘dip’ the tag edge with glue in the glitter. This glitter is messy … you might be sparkly for a while
- Once the wine hang tag is dry, place it on the neck of the bottle of sparkling wine, cider or juice.
- For a little extra pop, I tied a few pieces of ribbon and twine around the top of each bottle. Totally optional but totally cute!
These bottles are so fun and fancy, you may not want to give them away! But tis better to give than to receive, right?!
